Visitor’s Visas

Tourist visa

• Countries that are visa exempt for visits to South Africa will be issued with a tourist visa at the port of entry for a specific period and for a maximum period 90 days.

• This tourist visa can be extended once for a further period of 3 months in South Africa at the nearest VFS Centre. The foreigner will not be able to change his or status from a tourist visa in South Africa.

Visitor’s visa in terms of Section 11(2)

• A visitor’s visa in terms of Section 11(2) will be issued to a foreigner for purposes such as attending a conference, conduct work related activities and attend MANCO meetings.
• A visitor’s visa in terms of Section 11(2) can be extended once in South Africa at the nearest VFS Centre.
• A visitor’s visa in terms of Section 11(2) shall be used for emergencies only.
• The company abroad and the company in South Africa will be required to provide motivation letters, stating the reasons for the short term assignment.

Visitor’s visa in terms of Section 11(6)

• Visitor's visa section 11(6) will only be issued to a spouse of a South African citizen or permanent residence holder with the permission to work or conduct own business in South Africa . • This visa can be extended within the Republic of South Africa.
